Your inner critic is not your strategist
The voice that tells you the pitch isn’t ready, the price is too high, the email is too direct: it feels like judgment. Often it’s just fear that has learned to sound professional.
How to tell them apart
Strategy gives you a next step. The critic only gives you a verdict. If the thought ends in “so do this”, listen. If it ends in “so you’re not good enough”, it isn’t helping you plan anything.
What to do with it
You don’t have to silence it by force. Write down what it says, then ask what a colleague you respect would say about the same situation. The gap between the two is usually where your confidence went.
